We are so blessed to be able to share our farm with you for a few short weeks each Christmas. We are closed for 2015.
We had only a hand full of trees to sell this year. We decided to carry some pre-cut trees this year and they turned out to be a big hit. We need your feedback if we should carry a variety of pre-cut trees next year. Our young trees still need more time to get big enough. Having pre-cut trees would be the only way for us to be open next year. Of course we will still have hot cocoa, cookies and Blizzard will be so happy to see you.
Please comment to let us know if your family would still visit our farm if we only carried quality pre-cut trees.
Thanks for sharing your family with ours and have a blessed and Merry Christmas!
Thanks for a great 2014 season! Our farm friends are the best. It was awesome meeting new families and see our regular families return this year.
Our last day this year will be on Sunday December 21st. From now to closing day we will be open from 3:00 to 5:00.
Thanks again for coming to our farm this year to get your Christmas Tree. We would love to see pictures of your Christmas Tree. Post your pictures on our Facebook Page or send them to us. We love seeing you enjoy your tree in your home!
Today I got home from work and a nice elderly man was there wanting to get a big tree. Well the tree he picked was just about as big as the truck he hauled it home in.
When you venture out to pick out a Christmas Tree there are a few thing you should keep in mind to get the best tree and have a great experience with your family.
When you choose a farm to shop for your tree make sure they create a “family friendly” environment. You want to make sure they have a place that the kids can warm up and be entertained. The last think you want them to remember is that they were cold the whole time. There should be activities other than just looking for a tree, these are what makes the visit memorable. Above all it needs to be a place that provides a positive environment of fun and family.
When selecting a tree make sure there are different varieties of trees. In Missouri we are limited in the varieties of live Christmas trees that grow well here. Typical varieties are Scotch and White Pines, other varieties are usually too slow growing for our part of the country. That being said make use your farm has at least 5 acres of trees to choose from. I know this sounds like a lot but you want to be able to find the tree that’s just right for your home. Tips for what to look for in a tree is another post altogether.
Picking out the perfect tree may take a while so set aside at least an hour out of your day so you can enjoy the the time spent and not feel rushed. Take a few minutes to enjoy the environment, the smell of the pines, the crisp air and the sound of the birds. There is more to the visit than just cutting down a tree.
So before you head out make sure you know your farm has a good selection, you have enough time for your visit and that they provide a family friendly atmosphere. Keeping these things in mind will make your trip to the farm a great experience. If you have any other tips please share them with others in the comments section below!
Thanks again for your support. We could not do this without YOU!
